ABC’s of OCD

This is completely spontaneous, but I hope you like! Thought I’d add in a quote for each letter for some motivation. : )

A – Anxiety

“Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith.”

B – Battle

“Be kind to people and don’t judge, for you do not know what demons they carry and what battles they are fighting.”

C – Compulsions

“It is necessity and not pleasure”.

D – Determination

“Always behave like a duck. Stay calm and unruffled on the surface, but paddle like hell underwater.”

E- Exposures

“The worst battle you have to fight is between what you know and what you feel.”

F – Fight

“You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.”

G – Goals

“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”

H – Hope

“Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.”

I – Irrational fears

“When you’re in the moment, doing what you are doing, there is no fear. The fear is when you stand back to think about it.”

J – Jumps of progress

“A great accomplishment shouldn’t be the end of the road, just the starting point for the next leap forward.”

K- Kicking OCD’s ass

“We’re stronger than OCD! All of us!”

L – Learn

“I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship”.

M – Mystery

“The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.”

N – Never Give Up

“Courage doesn’t always roar, sometimes it’s the quiet voice at the end of the day whispering ‘I will try again tomorrow.”

O – Opportunities

“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”

P – Perseverance

“If you are going through hell, keep going.”

Q – Question your OCD

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

R – Recovery

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face…Do the thing you think you cannot do.”

S – Success

“Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it.”

T – Therapy

“Every little thing is gonna be alright. Maybe not today, but eventually.”

U – Universal

“OCD does not discriminate.”

V – Values

“One is often so busy doing life that it is easy to avoid evaluating whether you are putting your energy in the direction you value most.”

W – Win

“The battle of life is, in most cases, fought uphill; and to win it without a struggle were perhaps to win it without honor. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved.”

X – Xenomorphic (having a form not its own)

Y – You can do this

“Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A ‘you can do it’ when things are tough.”

Z – Zealous

“We all tend to make zealous judgement, and thereby close ourselves off from revelation.”
